Guy Lavallee
Guy Lavallee is a music industry survivor, tv veteran, cat lover, and award-winning writer/director of several documentary films, including MAKING THE TOUR (2014 Rosie Award Winner - Best Doc under 30 minutes) and A MATTER OF PRIDE (2019 Rosie Nominee - Best Doc under 30 minutes). His latest film, the acclaimed documentary FAMILY EVER AFTER, was the recipient of the 2022 Edmonton Film Prize for Best Documentary, and was also nominated for 4 AMPIA Rosie Awards (including Best Documentary, Best Director, and Best Screenwriter). It is currently streaming Canada-wide on CBC Gem. He is currently in production on a feature-length music doc that explores the groundbreaking era of the 1970s Canadian music scene.
In addition to his filmmaking pursuits, Guy is a Creative Producer for CTV/Bell Media, and has been programming film festivals for nearly 2 decades. He is currently the Festival Director and Lead Programmer for the NorthwestFest Documentary Festival, Rainbow Visions Film Festival, and NorthwestFEARFest genre film festival. He is also a Feature Film Programmer for the Calgary International Film Festival. He's been based in Edmonton full-time since 2004, but was born & raised in Winnipeg, and has also lived in Calgary and Toronto.
