I have been actively involved in community groups and volunteering efforts for several years. My journey began with The Council of Canadians and the Immigrant Services Society of B.C. where I helped organize local events and provided hands-on support respectively.
Throughout this time, I’ve had the opportunity to work with diverse groups of people, ranging from environmental activists, healthcare proponents, and new immigrants to Canada. My roles have included mentoring a new immigrant in Vancouver, assisting with community outreach programs, and peaceful, public protesting which have helped me develop teamwork, organization, and communication skills.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my volunteer work has been seeing the direct impact of our collective efforts on the community—whether it's better integrating newcomers to life in Canada, maintaining equal access to public services, supporting health care services and improving the environment.
Volunteering has enriched my life by connecting me with incredible individuals and reinforcing my belief in the power of community. I’m passionate about continuing this work and exploring new ways to make a positive difference.
